1.用英文表達時毋須使用太複雜的表達方式

Don’t try to impress others by using complicated grammar structures or difficult vocabulary as it simply doesn’t work. In fact, such behavior usually has the opposite effect.

In the English speaking world, people who use unnecessarily complicated language are generally regarded as being pompous; or at best, lacking the ability to communicate well in English. They may even give the impression that they are trying to hide something.

Native speakers judge each other’s English ability on how easy the language used can be understood. After all, English is just a tool to communicate with others, and anything that makes communication difficult is therefore counter-productive. So, simple is good!
